feeling really rubbish today! last night Ricky's older sister Leanne, who is a good friend of mine and my mum's and also my chemistry tutor decided to have a go at me because I was friends on facebook with her ex boyfriend. the whole thing is pathetic because it was completely innocent, i'd added him when they were together when the two of them, myself and Ricky had gone out for the day. So she sent me a really long text about how i've stabbed her in the back? this upset me alot, firstly because I'd added him months ago and didn't even realise he'd accepted... so obviously my mum wasn't very happy that she'd upset me so they ended up having a "discussion" about it too. i'm sick to death of people who i think are close to me having a go at me all the time. first all my girl friends, then ricky, and now leanne too. I just wish people would give me a break because I really don't see what I'm doing wrong. I'm just minding my own business, trying to get myself back on track, working for exams, and things like this keep knocking me back down. to top it all off, woke up in so much pain, hands all swollen and so sore. I have a maths exam tomorrow, and all i'm able to do is watch revision videos as when i try to do past papers i just can't write! mum dad and ruben all gone out to a friends for the afternoon. so i'm stuck in bed trying to revise, feeling rubbish emotionally and physically! and this rain isn't helping either! rant over. xxxxxxxxx

Hi Hannah sorry your feeling rubbish today , i think it might be because your stressed out about Leanne , i cant write down what i think you should tell her as some people might get offended ! she is probably jealous your still talking to her ex , let your mum deal with her for you , take some pain killers for your hands and good luck for the maths exam tomorrow.

but the thing is, i haven't even spoken to him! i didn't realise he was even on there - i dont go on it much. i just think it's silly, but at the same time without sounding selfish, she knows ive been through a tough time recently and that i can't cope with any kind of conflict at the moment. she did text in the night all apologetic but the fact is it made me panicky and upset again. xx

Hi Hannah,
Sorry you are not feeling good today. If Leanne has apologised, accept it and move on, show her you can act grown up even if she can't. Life's too short to let things like that upset you, especially when such stress makes you ill. This sort of thing happens all the time as you go through life, finding that people who you thought were friends can turn and be nasty to you, it's not because you have RA, but the fact that you have RA and are in constant pain probably makes it harder for you to cope with. You will learn to deal with it and rise above it as you get older. Try to forget the upset now and just concentrate on yourself, and if you have been watching revision DVDs all day, put a good chickflick in to watch now, you deserve a break! Good luck with the exam tomorrow!
Love and hugs, Doreen xx

Thanks Doreen, I think I just got myself a bit worked up for no reason, the littlest thing can set me off at the moment! I just need to calm down a bit, I'm slightly embrarrased now Done lots of revision today, and going to a friends house tonight to just chill out. Thanks to all of you for listening xx

Don't be embarrassed Hannah, we all know what it's like when the RA gets us down and we cry at the drop of a hat! Glad you are having some time off from revising tonight, I hope you have a good time with your friend.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Hannah,
So glad I'm not your age again, these are life experiences and you will learn to cope with these situations, but its not pleasant.
The most important thing at the moment is your exams.
Should you not be able to write in the exam would they provide you with someone to scribe for you. I did this on many occasions for youngsters sitting their exams who were unable to write, and since you have a medical reason surely they would be able to assist you.
Good luck and all the best.

Hi Anne,
I am able to have a scribe if I need one, I've had this in the past... but for some reason I really don't like it, especially with maths I find telling the person what to write and going through it all is harder than the exam itself! I find things easier to work out if I can do it myself. Bit of a problem really because sometimes there is not other option! xx

Good luck with the exams Hannah. It's good to get things off your chest, and I find this a really good place to do it because the people here are so caring. I had to have a scribe for my english 'o' level (like gcse now) and it was very strange, but I did well. I had broken the middle finger on my right hand just before the exams. After the exam I caught really bad tonsillitis and missed the rest and had to take them when everyone else was doing re-takes, so make sure you eat healthy food and get enough rest. Exams are a pain, but you don't want all that revision to go to waste! Sometimes facebook is more trouble than it's worth, but I still love it! Sounds like you are being more grown up than the rest. The exams will soon be over then you can enjoy the summer. Good luck, hope you get the questions you want. lots of love, Jan xxx

Hi Hannah,
I can understand how difficult using someone to scribe for you especially in maths would be, but if you need to use the facility use it, if you feel when you get the results that they are not what you expected then you could always re-take them later on.
Oh Hannah I really do feel for you, I've got two teenage boys and I've been through the exam process with both of them, at least you are trying to revise they never bothered and their results showed it. Mind you one of them broke his left hand playing football the week before exams started but that was no excuse because he is right handed.
Really really hope all is ok tomorrow, Anne x

Hi Hannah Sorry to read of your problems but well done with all your revision My three boys have exams at the moment, 1 doing GCSEs like you (but Year 10 modules) and two doing AS levels, so I know where you are coming from. Try to keep a clear head and I'm sure you will do so well. Enjoy a treat every now and again and look after yourself. Thinking of you in the coming weeks. Lyn x

Thanks for all the replies. Did my maths exam this afternoon which I think went well, it was pretty straight forward Now onto more revision for religious studies-Islam and english tomorrow. I'm a bit worried about the Islam paper, the first half was on Christianity the week before last and I really did well on that one because I felt really confident with it, I'm worried because I'm not so confident with Islam I might then ruin my chances of getting a good grade. Sooo can't wait untill they're all over, 21st of June will be such an amazing day! xxxxx

What's that all about then.....surely that can't be part of the curriculum!!! A friend is someone who knows all about you but loves you anyway!

I'm afraid it is! For the short course, which is only half a GCSE, which everyone HAS to do... You do one exam on Christianity and one on Islam... Also, we haven't even had a proper teacher for the past 2 years, so I don't actually know much on Islam... apart from the helpful points that have come up on Eastenders recently!

Well, I wouldn't give it a second thought! There's much more important stuff in life than that....unless you're a moslem of course! What do you fancy doing when you leave school? A friend is someone who knows all about you but loves you anyway!

I agree, I have 2 english exams, another maths and french this week aswell so I think I'll concentrate on those! I'm going to college to do A levels... keep changing my mind though. A few months ago I wanted to do Chemistry, Biology, English and Physcology because I wasn't too sure what I wanted to do. Now I think I'd really like to do Architecture and Interior Design at Uni, so I've changed my options to English Literature, History, Art and Chemistry - but I'm still not sure! I think it's pretty tough going having to limit what you can and can't do for the rest of your life at my age... I mean what if I change my mind again? (which is likely)
